Bridgehampton Rookie Team Supreme-

Donation protected
We started teaching robotics at Bridghampton in Middle School two years ago.  High School students were really keen to learn about it too and asked for an elective to be offered.  We thought that the best way to learn about robotics at that level was to compete in a competition.  Little did we know what we had in store!

With a little push from Debra Winters, teachers Ken Giosi and Judiann Carmack-Fayyaz teamed up together with 16 students and joined this year's FRC - First Robotics Competition.  Debra found an incredible mentor for us, Mark McLeod, and told us about a Rookie Grant that was available for first year teams.

The rest is history!  We built a lean and fast robot with the help of Mark and our pals over at Pierson in Sag Harbor that could buzz around the playing field with great efficiency.  Our team worked long and hard to get everything together for our very first competition.

At Hofstra , we were astounded to find ourselves in 6th place going into the quarterfinals.  Suddenly, we were the 'pickers' of of our alliance!  It certainly was the toughest fun most of us ever had and we finished way higher in rankings than we ever expected we would. That incredibly fun and rewarding experience was only topped by our winning the All Star Rookie Award at the end of the day. That award invites us to compete at St. Louis in the FRC World Championships!

Help us make that a reality by contributing to our GoFundMe campaign!
