Doyle Trout is a champion in every sense of the word.  When people hear his name, I would imagine the first thing they think of is wrestling.   A four-time Nebraska High School State Champion, Doyle knows what it means to be a winner, and what it takes.  He's been competing at a high level for several years under the instruction of his dad, Jon, and several other greats including Ken Chertow.  Doyle understands hard work and sacrifice, and he understands that the road to greatness is a tough one.  Very few young men have achieved what Doyle has and remained as humble and down to earth.
A big part of being a champion in any sport is realizing that you must attempt to achieve greatness in every aspect of your life in order to truly be the best you can be.  He works as hard in the classroom as he does at practice.  Knowing he had several offers coming his way, it was important to Doyle to choose the right school aside from just the wrestling program.   Doyle recently committed to attend the University of Wyoming in the fall, after he graduates next month from Centennial High School in Utica, NE.
And if they gave out gold medals for being a friend, Doyle would don several of them.  He's fun, loyal, goofy, inspirational and kind hearted.  And anyone who calls him friend is lucky to do so.
On Easter Sunday - April 5, 2015, Doyle was in a one-vehicle accident near Waco, NE.  Both of his legs were severely damaged in the accident.  His right femur was broken above the knee, but the doctors were able to repair it.  His left leg, however, was too badly damaged to be repaired, as an artery had ruptured and cut off blood flow to his foot, and the doctors were forced to amputate above the knee.
Doyle is recovering in the hospital, but even when he's able to go home, he has a very long and difficult road ahead of him.  You can follow his story on the Facebook page, Prayers for Doyle Trout.  Please consider helping this young man and his family.  Thank you so much and God Bless.
All funds raised will be paid directly to the Doyle Trout Family Benefit account to help cover costs related to Doyle's recovery and rehabilitation.
