I'm a 50 year old father who has lived the American Dream - making my living in the world of professional auto racing as a driver and team owner. I knew, during my journey, that the only thing that could stop me was me. The US was full of opportunity and freedom to pursue any goal. I, like many others, am seeing that change. Over-regulation and taxation, gov't mandates and restrictions are preventing others from achieving their dreams in this great nation.
I ran for US Congress in 2014 but failed to win the nomination even though, in a 3 way race, I won 5 out of the 6 counties in the district - and won two with more than 50% of the vote! The candidate who ultimately won ended up losing in the general election but has vowed to support my candidacy in 2016.
Running for office requires lots of money. It's an unfortunate fact, but that's our system. The incumbent, a liberal trial lawyer, started his campaign with $390,000 of his own money! He now has almost $1m in his war chest, but I know that money alone isn't the answer. I will knock on thousands of doors (in a previous campaign I knocked on over 5,000) and I will campaign with a positive, pro - constitution and pro - American values campaign. I firmly believe that if the voters can get to know me and what I stand for, they will elect me.
