Saving Sam

Dear friends and Family;

 We are honored and pleased to announce that we are adopting! As you may know we have been blessed to become parents through adoption twice now and the pure love and joy that this blessing has been to our family.

We feel God has called us to a new avenue of adoption at this point in our lives and that is through international adoption in Eastern Europe, through a fabulous organization called Reece’s Rainbow that advocates for orphans in other countries. We have chosen a sweet little boy who was born this past year named Samuel who has been diagnosed with Down syndrome. We have prayed for many years to be able to adopt a baby with Down syndrome and we are so honored that this call will be fulfilled at this point in our lives! We could not be more elated to bring this sweet soul into our home and family, and embark on this beautiful journey of adoption.

Samuel is an orphanage, although we do not specifically know the conditions of the orphanage he is in, our hearts break that he is without the love of a mother and father, that he doesn’t know what it’s like to loved by siblings and without the necessary medical treatments, or therapy he may require as a child with Down syndrome. We long every day to bring this angel home to where he belongs.

 As you may know, costs with international adoption are very, very costly, even with a special needs adoption. Our adoption will be close to $25,000. This includes travel and hotel expenses, immigration and visa paperwork, agency fees and court fees, etc. We plan to cover these costs in a few ways, first by asking for donations from family and friends like you and Second, fundraising efforts which are to be announced. The sooner we get all our funds, the sooner we can get to Eastern Europe to pick up our Samuel.

 This is where we are asking the help of our family and friends.  We are asking that you pray and if you feel so inclined that you will consider donating to bring this sweet boy into our forever family. Will you consider allowing this baby to be loved for eternity?  Will you consider Gods call to all, to love the motherless and fatherless and rescue the orphans?  This is not just another faceless child or some empty cause. This will be our son, our joy, and our answered prayers from God.

As you may know Samuel means “asked of God” and this is certainly true for this baby. He has been prayed for and wanted from before Nathan and I were married. He is an answer to many prayers, sleepless nights, many tears being shed and a call for adoption that was placed on our hearts years ago.

 Most importantly, will you pray for this sweet angel of ours? Will you pray that God will move mountains to bring him home to us? And will you pray that our adoption journey is filled with love and mercy for us and our children. As we embark on this journey, we move forward with so much excitement of what God has in store for us, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for your love and support and for making our eternal family come together. What an amazing blessing we have been given.

Most importantly, our prayer is that God’s glory through all of this will be made known.
