Hello ,
In February of 2015, our brother Erik was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Although he is in a lot of pain, he doesn't complain and he hasn't lost his faith. Cancer sucks! Its bad enough that we lost our dad to Liposarcoma 15 years ago, when Erik was just 6 years old, but our baby brother, Nicholas, has JUST recently finished treatments for his Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. We've also had to say good-bye to our caring Aunt Sherri, our beloved Uncle Terri, and his sweet daughter Tiffany, all due to cancer. Terri's youngest daughter, Tanisha, has also recently been diagnosed with cancer; at just 24 years old. Yes, cancer truly sucks!
If you've never met Erik, you're truly missing out. Although we tease him for being a spoiled, pretty boy, Erik has one of the biggest hearts we've ever seen. He is a true romantic to his girlfriend, Candace, and is the biggest cheerleader of every person in his family. Most importantly, Erik has demonstrated his strong sense of faith by never complaining or questioning God throughout this journey. Although Erik is young in the faith (he didn't start attending worship services or praying on a regular basis until recently) he is trusting God's plan for him and is looking forward to sharing his testimony once everything is over. Erik has encouraged those who have come to know him or his story to pray for him. The fact that his experience has bought others closer to God is truly a blessing in Erik's eyes.
Throughout it all, Erik has also kept his sense of humor. He demonstrated this by playing a prank on his older sister during a visit. As she entered his room in the ICU, Erik pretended that he was sleep. While she was taking off her coat and setting down her purse, Erik threw a plastic lid at her. Confused, his sister went to throw away the cap that had "fallen" ontothe floor. When she re-entered the room, Erik greeted her with a hearty "ROAR"!
We are a very private family; however, there have been so many people who have asked what they can do to help. As you can imagine, our family has accumulated a lot of medical bills. However, we don't want the increase in bills to distract us from giving Erik the care he needs.
This site was created to allow us to accept the blessing of those who desire to grant us financial gifts and to ensure sleepless nights won't be the result of medical bills.
Thank you ALL for your thoughts and prayers. Erik knows and appreciates all of the prayers for him. When it comes to praying for him, he says, "why stop now?" Keep the prayers coming and God Bless.
