I have set up this page for one of my closest friends Chris Rowe. We have been like brothers since we met nearly 20 years ago when we were just 12 years old at school. We have been through it all and got in to lots of trouble and drove all our parents mad along the way :)
I had the honour of being his best man at his wedding to Kate his amazing wife. They have a beautiful little girl Sophia who is 4 and seems to have everyone wrapped around her little finger (especially me) and another baby on the way (Max) who is due in June.
To say they have been through a lot is an understatement, they are two of the most beautiful and amazing people I have ever met and they are basically family to me.
The reason for me starting this page as this year Chris has been diagnosed with inoperable cancer. At 31 years old one of the healthiest people I know has cancer in his Lung, Liver and Bones (back and ribs) everyone close to him is devastated.
Being a self employed plasterer he has had to stop work as the chemotherapy leaves him drained and he is in constant pain making every day tasks hard.
Not only that but some of the treatments available to him cost money
. Not only can these treatments fight the cancer but they also help with the pain.
I am setting up this page as a away of raising money for him and his family so they can carry on with as normal a life as possible and to do that i am going to do a charity run for him.
I am going to cycle from John O'Groats to Lands end in July of this year, which is about 1000 miles and I'm going to aim to do it in 12 days.
i have set up a donate tab under the More tab (if anyone knows of a better way to get one let me know as it took me ages to get that one and its not the best) and if you type in your email address you can donate by paypal and leave a message too.
100% of donations are going to Chris and Kate. Im going to fund my travel and accommodation myself while I'm away so feel safe knowing the money is only going to them.
I'm not really sure what else to put. I'm sure this page will fill up by people who know Chris. Please feel free to send him wishes on here. He will see the page even tho he is no longer on FB.
