We NEED you Family & Friends! This one is coming from the heart right now.
In the picture below is my girlfriend's niece Joceyln Pray... Joceyln is 10 years old.
While most of us were watching the Pats win on Super Bowl Sunday she got the call her father at 30 years old had passed away just hours after spending time with him.
During the South Boston St. Patrick's Day Parade Mayor Marty Walsh acknowledged the death of her father and gave her some kind, and heartfelt words, it was the most touching moment of the parade, and now just weeks later, she has now lost her mother at age 29.
Even though we are reaching out to raise funds here on GoFund we would like to also utilize any government programs to help provide funds for funeral costs to aid young Jocelyn.
We need to raise these funds ASAP because the funeral is scheduled for April 8th which is next Wednesday. We are looking to secure $5000 to cover the cost for her to bury her mother and the extra $500 will cover the cost of the fees for the use of GoFund. Anything over the asking $5000 will go towards the headstone which will feature a laser etched picture of Jocelyn with her parents.
ANYTHING You can give will be appreciated. If you can help out please do so... I never usually ask for help out here like this but this war has hit too close to home, and for those who have lost a loved one to heroin I want people to know who she is, and realize that there are people who will keep her in their thoughts today and tomorrow. I also want people to know that there are other many other children who are in the same boat, but don't have the backing of those behind her to survive this...
We can do this for her and we can do this for others. #Funds4Joce
To ALL of my media, political & MMA friends PLEASE SHARE this story people need to be educated this is tragic and will be the toughest battle for this young girl... No one ever talks about those left behind when a person overdoses people only want to debate about that person's life, maybe in order to fight this addiction and disease that is killing families maybe we should start focusing on those young ones who have to struggle with the loss. I hope Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Brockton Mayor Bill Carpenter continue to bring this fight to the forefront.
Thank You Everyone!
Keith Hayes.
