Revitalize Liddonfield & Torresdale

Donation protected
Greetings! We are your neighbors. We live here in Upper Holmesburg in Northeast Philadelphia. We love it here and we are doing everything we can do to turn Upper Holmesburg's future into a bright one, but we can't do it alone and we can't do it without your help.

The Upper Holmesburg Civic Association is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit organization, organized for the benefit of the entire community. It was founded in 2004 and has accomplished many things in the intervening years, but there is much more to do. Most pressing at the moment is the Liddonfield/Torresdale Revitalization project.

In 2010, the Liddonfield Homes public housing complex was demolished, leaving behind a vast, undeveloped property that has had many interested investors; none of which have come to fruition.

There is a definite consensus of the actual community here in Upper Holmesburg, of what is needed to support and grow our neighborhood. Our goal is to secure what is best for our neighborhood and community at large.

The Upper Holmesburg Civic Association has a long track record of being the canary in the coalmine and bringing the community’s awareness to issues that will directly impact your way of life.

Holmesburg/Upper Holmesburg History

We fight the good fight and are in need of your support. Here are some of our goals and reasons why we are fundraising for this very important project:

- We want senior housing for our community
- We have a "Keep It Green" initiative where more green space is the objective.
- Economics associated with upscale development of the former Liddonfield site will encourage investments along the Torresdale Avenue corridor.
- Development means Jobs and a facelift to the northern gateway to our city.
- Development should impact property values in a positive direction.
- Blighted lots and homes will now have enough real estate value to encourage investments.
- We have hired the legal representation required to keep the communities best interest front and center. This has depleted our treasury ($2500.00) to fund round one of the Battle for Liddonfield, which could cost in excess of $10,000.

Join us in our efforts to reclaim a community rich in history and rich in resources including gems like our churches, playgrounds, Pennypack Park and the Delaware River.

We are a 501c4 non-profit organization.

Thank you for your support and “Keep It Green”!

Upper Holmesburg is from Frankford Avenue to the Delaware River and Pennypack Creek to Linden Avenue.
