Replace David Sameshima's Camera

Hi, I'm Austin Kakert, and my campaign is for David Sameshima.  David is a photographer for bleedcubbieblue.com and has spent the last 6 months photographing the progress of the Wrigley Field bleacher reconstruction "1060 Project."  On April 1, 2015, David had an unfortunate mishap and lost control of his camera as it fell off his monopod, which resulted in a damaged camera.  

Considering the unhospitable elements David faced during a typical Chicago winter season, his effort in providing Cubs fans elaborate and in-depth photo coverage of the daily progress in construction at Wrigley field is second to none.  To say that Cubs fans at bleedcubbieblue.com appreciate David's work would be an understatement.  

As a means for Cubs fans to show their appreciation for David's work, I have set up this fundraiser to help replace David Sameshima's damaged camera.  David needs to replace a Nikon D90 camera body, with a Nikon Nikkor 18-105mm lens.  The current replacement for those are the Nikon D7100 camera body, with a Nikon Nikkor 18-140mm lens.  According to online resources, the going rate is around $1296.95 for the package, after a $400.00 Nikon instant rebate.  This would be the ideal combination to replace David's Nikon D90/105mm setup.

Factoring in shipping & handling plus a protection plan, I will go ahead and set the campaign goal at $1400.  I will start the fundraiser with a donation of my own, $14 in honor of "Mr. Cub," Ernie Banks.  If 100 Cubs fans donate $14 in honor of "Mr. Cub" (including my donation), the goal will have been met.
