A couple of months ago i read this article, http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/for-homeless-women-having-a-period-isnt-just-a-hassle-its-a-nightmare-124 and it has been on my mind ever since.
Many women can dread getting their period and can suffer from an abundance of period related problems, imagine going through this each month but not having access to (at the very least), sanitary products.
I have come across, #TheHomelessPeriod and this project believes that tampons and towels should be made available through homeless shelters, the same way the goverment provides condoms.
#TheHomelessPeriod are currently working on their own crowdfunding project, but in the meantime i wanted to put my plans in action and support their cause!
My aim is to provide a selection of sanitary products to homeless women. In the Bristol and Cardiff areas. I hope you will all help by offering a small donation to make this possible and provide these women with essential items.
Gofundme do charge 5% for every donation. However i will pay for this charge up to and including the target amount to ensure that everyone's donation goes directly on the products.
