Swanky Six: DI Global Finals
The Ayer Shirley HS Destination Imagination Team, "The Swanky Six", competed in the Scientific Challenge, "Making Waves" at the Reg. 3 tournament and WON, competed at States and came in 2nd and are now off to DI's International Tournament, Globals!!!!
It has been 7 years since Ayer has sent a DI team to this prestigious tournament.
"The Destination Imagination program encourages teams of learners to have fun, take risks, focus and frame challenges while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), the arts and service learning. Our participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. "
At Globals, The Swanky Six, will compete against other HS Teams from 48 other US States and 14+ other countries.
This amazing team consisting of: Brooke Martinez, Ryan Martone, Ryan Messcher, Jake Miska, Liam Noonan and Alex Patano is asking for your support. Unfortunately, hard work and determination is not enough to get this team to Globals, they need $$$$$. The cost to get to Globals, the 4 days of competition, shipping props and scenery, housing and food, etc... will be approximately $10,000!!!
