Leyton Page is a hero

Leyton Page is a 16 year old boy who risked his own life in a boating accident that happened at the lock canal near Bush, La. He happened upon the accident involving 2 adults and 3 children. Leyton's own boat was overturned in his attmept to save the family. He held onto 2 of the children in the water for approximately 20 minutes when another witness arrived and pulled Layton and the 2 children out of the water. The third child was found later, unharmed. The body of the male adult was found the next day. Authorities are still searching for the woman. Leyton had a brand new $1,200 Browning shotgun in his boat that was lost. Leyton expressed that the shotgun was the least of his worries and he's just glad he was able to save the 2 children. But this boy is a hero and he deserves to be able to buy himself another shotgun, as he loves hunting. Let's help this selfless boy out and show him that his amazing effort did not go unnoticed. 

I am Amanda Pearson. I do not know Leyton personally. I was a bystander and arrived to the scene of he accident after Leyton and the two boys had been pulled from the water. The original purpose of this fundraiser was to help Leyton replace his gun. The gun has since been found and can be used. There has been a huge response  to this from our community and many people still want to donate to Leyton despite his gun being recovered. People close to Leyton have said that he doesn't want the money and that he may donate it to the children he saved. People still want to give to this boy because he gave so much of himself. I have been in contact with Leyton's aunt  (his guardian) and she is aware of this fundraiser.
