Restitution Recovery Fund

Hi! My name is Joshua Davidson. I'm from San Diego, CA and also lived in Ogden, UT until October, 2014. My most recent job in Utah was managing an awesome pizza restaurant that stayed open late on weekends.

On May 3, 2014, a drunk customer got upset over a trivia question and assaulted me. Total of 2 head butts and 2 direct punches all to the face and not once did I strike him through the whole encounter. Talk about biting the hand that feeds!

My nose was fractured in 7 places, I had black eyes and a chipped tooth and a lacerations throughout my nose. The wounds needed to be cauterized and packed multiple times (the most pain I've experienced in my 23 years).

This painful experience happened a total of 3 times because one of the blood clots shifted a week after the injury. One of my main arteries was now exposed, so I lost more than 2 liters of blood out of my nose choking on and vomiting it up for almost 40 minutes before going into surgery.

I weigh 130 pounds and dropped to 110, my blood count was 14, 40 being normal. I was out of work for a whole month, having to scrounge on workman's comp (which doesn't factor in the tips we strive for in food industry). With less than half my wage, I was unable to pay bills without having to borrow from my roomie.

But what about the other guy? He was not admitted to jail because he had a cut on his hand from my broken nose shards. His attorney was able to delay his pretrial more than 5 times! The trial finally happened more than A YEAR later on Tuesday, August 11.

The only sober people in the building at the time were me and my staff (not exactly "unbiased" in court of law). To make matters worse, of the two that were there for the incident, one of them received a concussion a week after from another random Ogden thug.

He was found "not guilty." I almost died over a trivia question suffering permanent damage to this day. It gets worse, though. He is a US Army sergeant training to become a police officer. I am devastated and ashamed that another person with brutality and aggression issues is going to sully the ranks of the selfless men and women who actually DO their job to serve and protect.

There's no responsibility, no discipline, no justice and no restitution. My goal is 15,000 dollars because that is the cap of restitution in the criminal case.

A wonderful friend and lawyer helped me through this process to the best of his ability, acted as a liaison and never asked for cent definitely needs some payment for his time.

My awesome roomie Ryan Hamill took time off work to take care of me and was able to quickly rush me to the hospital the night I almost died. However, he works a corporate job and the 3 intemittent days he took off in the span of a month was enough to get him fired. It's not right and made me feel like a victim AND a burden. He deserves payment as well.

The rest will be used to take the edge off my $7,200 in student loan debt so I can get closer to my dream of being able to help others

I live in the beautiful Mesa County in Colorado after selling everything I could to move. This area is famous for it's produce, agriculture and diverse landscape. My dream is to buy a piece of earth to grow a garden of natural remedies. (Valerian, aloe vera, lamb's ear, etc)

I would NEVER advocate big pharma's chemical cocktail capsules and want to use my harvest to benefit the community and raise awareness to benefit people beyond that!

I ultimately want to make the best of an enraging situation. I'm posting more photographs and evidence as soon as I can

Thanks for your time!
~Joshua
