We want to keep our children safe by adding security cameras to our city parks. We feel this will prevent drug users from leaving Heroin needles and other potentially hazardous materials from infecting our children. The thought of a 4 year old child playing in a park with their friends and gets stuck with a drug needle is one of parents worst nightmares.
There has been known drug use in the local parks at night as users can hide in the tunnels and walls of the playground sets. Recently, citizens of our community have found full heroin needles in their yards.
The drug epidemic is sweeping through our country. Their have many overdoses in the area and no sign of them slowing down.
Until we can eliminate drug use all together, we need to protect our children. Not only from instances stated above, but also eliminate influence from drug dealers and peer pressure. This
These security cameras will not only prevent drug users, but will also prevent youth alcohol consumption, drug use, bullying and kidnapping in these areas. Our small town of Chisholm and the parents have had to deal with all the above. It is time to be proactive and take preemptive measures.
Security/video surveillance, 24 hr monitoring, High powered lighting and Postings stating surveillance.
If we light these parks up at night and make it known that they are being recorded, they should deter any illegal activities at these locations.
