Mariah's Fight Against Lymphoma

July 2013 I was diagnosed with stage 3B Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I did 12 chemotherapy treatments over the course of six months and was "cancer-free" February 18, 2014. Regular scans started to show worrisome activity so I had to have an invasive biopsy. The results confirmed that my disease had relapsed. I was scheduled to undergo five more chemotherapy treatments only this time the treatments would be five days long. My doctors told me that at the end of my treatments I would need a bone marrow transplant. I am almost at the finish line! The transplant will be very expensive and I could use all the help I can get.

I am a 23 year old lover of films and music. Before I had to stop attending for treatments, I was a student at the University of Southern Mississippi. Last summer, while working at the local movie theater, I worked as an extra for Jurassic World for 12 days. This experience showed me where my heart wants to be and once I am healthy I will finish my degree in film studies so that I may work on movie sets for the rest of my life. I am a huge fan of Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Disney, Steven Speilberg, and John Williams. I am happily married to my high school/college sweetheart, Nicholas. I have an amazing support group of a wonderful family and awesome friends.
