The Polished Network is an online community meant to connect classy, authentic women. Those who love fashion and current events, those who are juggling baking with writing their dissertations, those who shun 'fast fashion' for classic pieces for their new PR job, but not before they've given those designer shoes a test run at the local art exhibit. Grace, elegance, no Kardashian. We dream of a community of like minds with fantastic ideas. The Polished Network believes in women being good to themselves and others because they are worth it.
The Polished Network whole-heartedly believes in working together to create content. Starting at the launch, we will begin asking for submissions so your voice will also be heard and help shape the conversation about a curated lifestyle. Above all this will be a positive environment where women can encourage each other and promote greatness.
If you believe in this mission, please donate to our launch. As co-founders Samantha & Sarah are currently both students, they do not have the means to establish their vision on student income alone.
Inquiring minds have asked why Samantha and I have set such a loft goal of $5,000. We have multiple factors affecting our reasoning. First, we have a company in mind that we would like to help develop our website and logo, but the company charges about $1,200 for this service. That would equal over a 1/5th of our budget. Furthermore, there are numerous other factors to consider when starting a professional website such as domain costs, premium accounts, cloud storage, etc. From our initial research, we understand that this will add up to a hefty sum. However, what I think is most important to disclose is that ideally we would like to use some of this funding to eventually begin paying a small sum to our contributors to ensure the best quality content. Too frequently print media is seen as the "better" place to get published, but we would like to add even more legitimacy to writing for an online space by paying for quality, well-written submissions.
