Dear Friends, I ran my Hot-Dog business for twenty years ( 1996/2016 ) in front of the Dalhousie Student Union Building, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, with great effort and success. Every year since 1996, I renewed my vendors license on the first business day of the new year. On Tuesday January 2, 2007, when I went to renew my license I was told to call Halifax Regional Municipality, (HRM) lawyer Randy Kinghorne.
Mr. Kinghorne, told me I no longer needed a vendors license to work on University Ave, and he refused to give me my license and assused me that all vending decisions went through him and no one would bother me for not having a license.
For nine years I was refused a license by the HRM lawyer and allowed to work. Then on April, 29. 2016, I showed up for work and was told I can't work because I had no license.??!!
Randy Kinghorne, allowed me to work for nine years without a license because he needed to steal my grandfather clause from me. As long as I renewed my license every year I was grandfathered to the by-law I started unter. When Mr. Kinghorne allowed me to work with no license it was a set up to steal my license.
