Peter Is Stranded!!

Donation protected
Peter Stachowiak is the adorable, funny and kind hearted pewtersmith behind Perth Pewter and Medieval Productions. He travels around the country with his son Daniel selling their beautiful pewter creations at renaissance faire's and craft shows. He has a huge heart and has gently hugged and talked away the worries and troubles of so many of us over the years. Many of us have slept on his sofa, shared what food he had, hid in his booth so we had a safe haven on a bad day or worked for him when we needed a little money and a hand up. Even if he couldn't afford us.
Peter has been struggling very hard for a long time but always with a smile and the thought that things would work out somehow if he worked hard enough. Now he is at a point where he needs our help or he will lose everything. He broke down  on his way to the Norman, Oklahoma Medieval Faire.
Peters mother Dorothy passed away last week after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was only buried the day before he left. Prior to that he was sued for $360,000 by the nursing home she was in for medicaid money they never applied for. He was able to settle out of court for $60K that he pays off at $6K every 6 months. He was also left with a very high mortgage and high property taxes (which aren't included in his mortgage) when Daniel's mother Shari died suddenly .
Yesterday, on their way down to tNorman, after having spent what little money they had getting reay for the trip by having work done on their truck, paying their bills and buying raw materials to make the stock that they brought with them - their trusty old truck finally gave out and left them stranded with a trailer full of stock on the western border of Pennsylvania.  With very little money, nowhere to pull it from and far from home or their destination.
Peter needs to get to this show since it is his biggest show of the year. The money he makes from this show pays his property tax and an entire installment to his mothers nursing home. With no money and no way to get to Oklahoma he not only can't fix his truck or rent one but runs the risk of defaulting on the settlement which will allow them to demand the full$360K. But even worse - he lose his house where his shop is and his only way to earn a living. Even if he could borrow money he would have no way to pay it back if we can't get him to the show. He is going to look into renting a truck today and getting his own truck towed to a mechanic. This will wind up costing about $10,000 - a new engine and labor and the round trip truck rental for a week.
My goal is to either cover this expense that will get him to the show so he can use his earnings as originally planned or cover the two bills his earnings would have paid for - about $13,000.
Peter has been a pewtersmith for over 30 years. His heart goes into every piece he makes and his soul into every person he touches. Please help by contributing what you can and boost the signal by sharing this on your Facebook page, social media sites and in emails to those you may think could help. Give what you can and spread the word. Let's keep the Stachowiak boys in our prayers and get them safely to their destination and home again.
