Vert's Cancer Treatment Fund

Donation protected
Hello to every dog lover, pet parent, and caring Samaritan. This is our sincerest ask for help in our current situation. Our beloved pet, Vert, had been diagnosed with cancer, specifically Leukemia, on March 6, 2015. Unfortunately 6 days before his fourth year of life. This was the most devastating news I had to receive at work and I rushed to the clinic. That morning my husband and I agreed he would pick him up after work since he was closer to him but I could not imagine him getting the news without me being there to console him.
In turn, as it would turn out, I was the one who could not hold back my tears. My husband stayed silent and holding back tears told the veterinarian firmly that we would go forward with chemotherapy without hesitation. We took our Vert home that night and I became overwhelmed with fear and hopelessness. After a long talk that night, we decided we would not kill our dog before he is gone. We decided we had to be strong, as he has shown to be and fight like Vert has been and will continue to do so long as he can.  The veterinarian gives him the likelihood of living 6 months  or less, but like us she wants to believe he can live past that with good, consistent treatment.
We were made to understand there was nothing we could have done different. She assures us we acted as quickly as we could when the signs became evident. She explained to us that it was in a matter of a day or few that he lost the weight so drastically, became anemic, formed a lump that became bigger, and walking was a struggle. We are very caring, responsible pet parents and we do every possible and best to care for our dog. Ask any of our friends and family, at a drop of a dime we have taken Vert to be looked even when it was something minimal.
We find it very hard to afford  his treatment at times. We have had to max out our care credit, other credit cards, and live from pay check to pay check. Unfortunately, pet insurance is not an option as he now has what is considered a pre-existing condition. We were negligent of this as we this as thought Care Credit would help cover costs as we did not ever anticipate such. Vert has had issues in the past, but he got better from his anal glands and other infections. We are trying to keep Vert alive as long as his quality of life can be great. We hope that means he can make until our wedding this June, which has required our own funds as we are a couple starting out.
We assure you that Vert after receiving his first 2 chemotherapy treatments is just as playful, running again, appetite increased, weight gain, and still just as many kisses as before. We want to love Vert as long as God is willing. Vert has been such a great influence in our life. Vert, we believe, was sent as an instrument of God's work to change our lives and fortify our union. Thank you in advance  to those who are able to donate, but if you can not then a simple prayer is enough for this little family of 3.

Sincerely
Janely
