Where do I start. My family has been going through a lot since this accident. My 18 year old little brother was missing after his normal nightly run. I (his sister) being in West Virginia receive a call from my mom (who has stage four brain cancer) saying Mathew never returned home from his run and when we would call him we got no answer. Hours went by until we called police a second time. After my mother described Mathew and posted things on Facebook. We learned there was a hit and run victim who matched his description. We were happy we found Mathew but learned he was in very critical condition.

Mathew had a tremendous amount of blood lose and multiple injuries along with internal. He has broken shoulders, arms, back and his legs. His internal damage the hospital is working on still and the first 72 hours are crucial.

My brother always runs he loves it. It's his time to reflect on things and relieve stress. So if he loses his legs it would be devastating.

I drove down to Florida from West Virginia as soon as I could with my uncle kenny and I now have no job. My mom still has treatments and now we are trying to figure out how we are paying everything, from house bills to Mathews help he will need. The doctors say he could be in here for months or even a year, but it will be a long recovery and hard for everyone.

Many have asked how they can help us and some are doing fundraisers and yard sales but with how busy my family and I are this is the best I could do on my part, because all I am concerned about is my little brothers recovery along with my mothers saftey and health.
