Patch up the Patuxent

Donation protected
My AP environmental class at Leonardtown High School is doing an "action project," and mine is Patch the Patuxent. The Patuxent River has the worst water quality in the entirety of the Chesapeake Bay. Montgomery, PG, Charles, St. Mary’s, Howard, Anne Arundel, and Calvert Counties all surround the Patuxent River, and are effected by it's quality. The profits from the patches will go towards the annual Patuxent River Wade-In, which is at Jefferson Patterson Park on June 11, from 1-4 pm. The Wade-In was created by sen. Bernie Fowler in 1988, who would walk into the river until he could not see his feet anymore, and measure the distance. This event raises awareness to the terrible condition that the Patuxent River is in, and how it keeps getting worse every year. Donations would make sure that the event keeps happening and that more and more people become aware and even take action on the quality of the Patuxent River.
