My name is Maggy, I am a divemaster and I love the ocean and its habitats. I had the possibility to swim with whalesharks in their natural home, I saw free dolphins dancing in front of us divers and I know, if we don`t change our way to live with the ocean, we will loose all of this beauty. I can not stand still and wait for the ocean to die, that`s why I was teamleader on Sea Shepherd`s Operation Grindstop on the Faroe Islands 2014. I got arrested there, because I run into the water during a grind to save pilot whales. I have been standing in the crazy cold water for 20 minutes between whales and whalers and I tried to change the direction of the whales, ´cause this in my eyes was the only way to give them at least a chance to survive.

This day made my believes so much stronger and I know, that I will never give up fighting for the ocean.
I give a lot of free speeches in schools and comunities at my home in South Tyrol/Italy, to inform people about what happens out there. I want to open peoples eyes. I do that all for free, ´cause for me it is so much more important, to spread the information out.
Now my boyfriend and me are creating our own small "campaign", it is called: Cycle For The Ocean
We start in Vancouver and cycle along the hole west coast of the USA till San Diego. We stop at some different places to organize beach clean ups, to give speeches and to make the people aware about the problems in the ocean. Some of the events will be done in cooperation with Sea Shepherd Vancouver, Seattle, Eugene, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego, others we organize alone.
Everyone is more than welcome to cycle with us, that means that people spend us their time and their kilometers and we try to find supporters, which donate 1 $ per each kilometer we make by bike to another fundraising page. That money will get donated to a great marine conservation society.
That means for this cycle for the ocean trip we need to take our own private money. We want to use as less money as possible, but we still need people to help us with the costs for the trip, including bikes, tent, sleeping bag, food, flight and the organization for some events, for example to rent a room for a speech...
The money you send us on this gofundme page is a donation to me and my boyfriend personally. It is not for the organization Sea Shepherd, this is a private donation to us.

On our website you find the hole informations about our trip, dates of the events, pictures and videos we make during the trip... The website is not finished yet, but it will be finished at the time our trip starts, 18th of May 2015.
