Oswaldo, es un joven feliz de 13 años , que tiene hipertensión arterial pulmonar (HAP). Es la presión arterial alta. Pero ésta condición es en las arterias de los pulmones del joven de 13-años de edad. Es una enfermedad relativamente rara, a diferencia de la hipertensión común, y afecta a una persona de cada 100.000 a 1 millón de personas. Es más común en las mujeres, por lo general en sus 30 años, y es muy raro que un niño de la edad de Oswaldo. Su condición fue diagnosticada por primera vez en el Hospital de Salem en 2011. Fue remitido luego a un especialista cardíaco en el Hospital de Salud y Ciencas de Oregon (OHSU) de Niños Doernbecher poco después. Su condición lo ha ido deteriorando en los últimos años, y fue recomendado para un trasplante de corazón en 2014.
Oswaldo requiere ir a Stanford, en California, cuando llegue el momento para el trasplante, el se tendrá que permanecer en la zona de Stanford tres meses después de la cirugía, ya que es cuando el paciente se encuentra en riesgo más alto de sufrir el rechazo del órgano trasplantado. La familia se está preparando para este momento. Oswaldo estará lejos de Salem, su hogar donde él reside y donde tiene a sus seres queridos que lo apoyan, y son los gastos para este periodo de tres meses que están abrumando a la familia. No pueden imaginarse estar separados en estos momentos tan dificiles por la cirugía y la recuperación. Por lo cual estamos pidiendo su ayuda para mantener a ésta familia unida durante estos momentos dificiles. Oswaldo sueña con recuperar su salud y poder ser el joven activo que era antes de esta condición que lo limita a ser las cosas mas sencillas y cotidianas que otros jóvenes pueden hacer sin cansarse. El en un futuro planea ser un profesionista en el diseño.

The family is preparing for this moment. Oswaldo will be far from Salem, his home, where his support circle is, and the expenses for this period of three months are overwhelming the family. HIs family cannot imagine being separated in this difficult time for the surgery and recovery. Therefore we are asking for your help to keep this family together during this difficult time. Oswaldo dreams of his health recovery and to be as active as before his condition that limits him even in the most simple, everyday things that other young people can do without getting tired. His plans in the future to be a professional in the design.
