Operation Feed

Angie Hooten-Hughes insurance and excited to announce our new Community Cause program where we pull together to give back to our community! This month we are teaming up with Mid-South Food Bank’s, “Operation Feed.”

Operation Feed is a friendly competition to see what businesses around town can collect the most canned foods and/or money to purchase food!

We are asking our wonderful clients and friends to stop by either of our offices to drop off Mid-South Food Bank’s most needed food items. For those of you who can’t make it to the office, we created a page to donate money! We will compete, based on a point system with other businesses around town, but the real winners are the charitable feeding programs in 31 counties in west Tennessee, north Mississippi and east Arkansas.

Operation Feed is Mid-South Food Bank’s largest food drive. Last year, participating companies raised food and money to provide ONE MILLION meals for hungry and needy people right here in our community.

Every week, more than 22,000 people rely on food from Mid-South Food Bank for their next meal. More than 20% of Mid-South residents struggle with food insecurity—that is 416,000 people. One-third of them are children and 11% are seniors. Mid-South Food Bank's partner programs provide wholesome food and other groceries to help families meet basic nutritional needs. For many in our service area, hunger is only one lost paycheck or catastrophic event away.

Operation Feed began in 1991 with United Way of the Mid-South. Last year, the workplace food drive raised food and money to provide thousands of meals for hungry people right here in the Mid-South.
