OPD Memorial Eagle Scout Project

My name is Michael Collins, and I am a Life Scout in Troop 24 and a junior at Boone High School.  For my Eagle Project, I am commissioning a life-size bronze statue in honor of the fourteen Orlando Police Department officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice.  The statue will be placed outside the new Orlando Police Department, which is currently under construction.

This project was inspired by the increasingly hostile environment that law enforcement officers face and serves as a reminder of both the sacrifices that police officers make for our safety and the heroism of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.  
 
Equally important, however, is the opportunity that this project provides for grateful citizens of Orlando to show their appreciation for those who risk so much for us.  The cost of comissioning the Call to Duty statue is $45,000.  I invite you to assist me in my project by donating and spreading the word to friends and family.  For more information, please visit my website  and like my Facebook page to spread the word.  Thank you for your support.
