Ashleighs Memorial Path

Donation protected
On the 27th of December 2014, Ashleigh had a fall which led to her death on January the 3rd 2015.
Whilst walking to a popular swimming hole in the Kauaeranga Valley (New Zealand) with myself and three friends, part of the bush track collapsed from underneath her, which caused her to fall onto the rocks below.

I know that this swimming hole is used by a lot of locals in the area and as such I wish to make it safer for all.

My goal is to raise enough money to bring the track away from the cliff edge, clear some of the foliage that obscures potential hazards, add steps and reinforcing walls where needed, and to create a small memorial garden to Ashleigh. I would hate for anyone else to lose their life at this spot and I believe that we can reduce that risk by making the path more traversable for swimmers and also emergency services if they should be required. I plan to do this between the 29th of May and the 13th of June this year.

A project like this does come at a cost for materials and so this campaign is to raise enough to cover the costs associated with this project. My goal is to raise $2000 with all money above that mark/all money unused after the project to be donated to the Wacol RSPCA Animal shelter in Ashleighs name. As a lot of you may know, Ash had a great love for animals, especially her dog, Dexter. Dexter was a rescue dog from the shelter and Ash was actively involved in fundraising for the shelter.

Every dollar helps to reach this goal and I thank anyone who can help, even if just by sharing this fundraiser.
