Progressive Permaculture Education

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Ollie.

I am a avid permaculturalist. Since the day I discovered the subject, I have been captivated by its ability to advance progress in the fields of sustainability, human rights, business and education to name a few. Its ability to transform societies, towns, agricultural systems and landscapes is remarkable. I would like to be the change that I would like to see in the world and I require a little bit of help getting started!

Specifically, I am looking to raise £3000 to fast track my way to contributing to social, environmental and economic progress.

For anyone who is not familiar with the subject, here are a few videos showing Permaculture in action.

Farming with Nature - Sepp Holzer

I began studying Permaculture with Geoff Lawton (Narrator in first video) in May of 2013. The foundation of the PDC (Permaculture Design Course) has given me a great starting point for a career in Permaculture practice and education. I followed this up by developing my own site since and have helped others in creating theirs. Now I want to further my education, so that I am able to offer a broader range of knowledge and experience to those who need it.

Permaculture tutors and educators are becoming more highly sought after all over the world and I plan on becoming one. I have identified 3 courses which I believe are the most essential in becoming a Permaculture educator in the shortest possible time whilst gaining the most essential knowledge and skills to contribute to building a better world.

First I will register with the Permaculture Association on the Diploma pathway which requires me to complete 10 pieces of advanced design work to create a portfolio worthy of the Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design. This diploma is essential for running courses as it will allow me to run certificated PDC's, the same as the one I started with! I'll be signing up for a Permaculture Teacher Training course in Portugal at Quinta Do Vale Da Lama to equip me with the essential teaching skills that I will need to effectively educate individuals, businesses, children, local authorities and everyone else on the benefits of Permaculture. Finally I plan on taking an advanced certificated Earthworks and Water Harvesting course at Blue Paradise Farms in Jamaica to start my way in what I believe is one of the most important areas today; Regenerative Agriculture. Our current agricultural systems are destroying landscapes, polluting the air and water and degrading soils. Regenerative Agriculture provides the opportunity to transform our agricultural systems into systems of abundance rather than systems of depletion.

I would love to not have to travel long distances for these courses for many reasons but currently there is a limitation as to what is available close by. I will offset my own carbon footprint in future projects that I plan to implement such as the creation of community gardens, food forests and waste disposal programmes.

Please check out the variety of rewards I have on offer for anyone generous enough to consider me a worthy cause. These aren't essential to choose, but it provides  me with a way to give back.

A quick thankyou to anyone taking time to read my campaign, I hope it encourages you to contribute in your own way. Next time, I plan on being the one doing the donating.

Paying it forwards!
