Attorney Fees for Ci Ci Taylor
Constance Taylor, known to her many friends and loved ones as "Ci Ci," has spent most of her adult life working to help others within her community. She is a passionate activist, devoted mother, and all-around benefit to the community. She has given selflessly of herself for years, volunteering her time for The Human Solution and a variety of decriminalization and legalization measures. 
She was recently out collecting signatures (for free) for a city legalization initiative in Benton Harbor in the frigid Michigan late-winter freeze and is a familiar face in the court support movement within the state.
Ci Ci is a medical marijuana patient living in Michigan, where the law doesn't offer very good protection. Despite having such a powerful story behind her medical marijuana use that she was selected to testify in front of state policymakers, she was ordered by the courts to stop using medical marijuana while on probation for a previous offense. In fact, she is not allowed to be around cannabis at all or take work within the industry, even as a secretary.
On January 18th, 2015, Ci Ci was driving with her daughter in the car. A cop car scanned her plates, which were only two days old and thus did not turn up an immediate result in the system. The police then pulled her over, searched her, and found cannabis, for which she was cited for "improper transport." This, in turn lead to a violation of probation and the eventual filing of a warrant for her arrest, although her attorney believes the "improper transport charge" will be dismissed (a motion to dismiss has already been filed).
Ci Ci turned herself into state custody of her own volition on March 11, 2015, at approximately 4 pm, after making arrangements for the care of her much loved daughter. She did so as soon as she was notified of the warrant issued for her. She has an excellent attorney (Joshua Covert) ready to fight for her in court, but she needs help to raise the funds to pay him!
Ci Ci is facing an uphill battle in a biased court system, with very little financial support, as she was still recovering from the dramatic impact of her initial arrest, which has made finding a well-paid job nearly impossible for this personable, hard-working college graduate. If she is not released on a personal recognizance bond, she will likely be kept in solitary confinement due to the hair wraps she wears to honor her Native heritage.
