For 50 Years OFC Has Helped Chenango County Residents; Now We Need Your Help.

Opportunities for Chenango, (OFC) has successfully served county residents for 50 years and is recognized as a leader in the coordination, integration and delivery of enhancing life skills. We were chartered as a Community Action Agency in October 1965 in response to President Johnson’s War on Poverty. Since then we’ve been instrumental in helping thousands of residents set and achieve goals, make responsible choices, and become self-sufficient members of their communities. OFC has grown tremendously since 1965. Today, we assist 4,000 individuals each year with ten agency programs and 120 staff.

Financial Literacy
First Time Home Buyers
Head Start/Early Head Start
Home Repair
Job Training
Literacy Volunteers
RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program
Weatherization Assistance
WIC – Women, Infant, Children

The financial benefits of the services provided extend beyond the impact on individuals and families; private businesses, contractors, stores, lending institutions, and insurance companies all benefit indirectly. Nearly 97 million dollars was invested back into our community between 2000-2010.
