O'Callaghan Fire Relief Fund

Thank you to everyone who has come together to show their love and support for Sallie, Tim, and their daughter.  The prayers, gifts, and kind words have been passed along to my dear friends and they cannot express enough their gratitude.

What Happened?
On January 2nd, 2017, while out with friends, Sallie (and her daughter) received numerous phone calls and texts alerting her to an emergency at her home.  Around 5:45 pm, a fire broke out in their home, causing major damage, and, sadly, injuring Tim.  Tim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he continues to be treated for significant burns over a large portion of his body.

In addition to the injuries Tim sustained, the fire destroyed Tim's car & contents, their garage & all of its contents, and caused damage to their home.  Many items within the main part of the home were ruined by the fire, smoke, and water damage.  Their daughter's 4th birthday party, understandably, had to be rescheduled (indefinitely, at this point) as a result.

Our Goal
The O'Callaghans have a long road to recovery and rebuilding ahead of them.  Their exact financial needs are still unknown at this time, especially given they are down to one income (for the foreseeable future) once Sallie is able to return to work.  The current (minimal) goal of $15,000 is expected assist with initial costs of rebuilding and medical bills.

Other Ways to Help?
If you would like to mail donations, please send me an email me for details.

Also, please pray.  There is power in prayer, and Tim needs our prayers for recovery, Sallie needs our prayers for coping and strength, and Tim's mother and siblings need of prayer and loving support at this time as well.

I know some of you may want to send items to Grady. There are strict rules at the burn unit:
* No Flowers may be sent to the unit
* Cards, pictures, letters & balloons are OK - Only *non-latex*
* Anything you want to send may be sent to Grady Memorial Hospital, Burn Unit (3-B), with the patient's name. They will get what is sent to his room.

How Soon are These Funds Needed?
Some of the funds are need urgently, while more funds will likely be needed as Tim continues to recover.

About the Author/Requestor:
My name is Melanie Hale.  Sallie and I have known each other since we were toddlers, grew up in the same town, at the same church, and have been best friends for many years.  I was her maid-of-honor, she was my matron-of-honor.  My husband and I have two children, one of whom has special needs/sensory issues.  Sallie and Tim have been wonderful resources in helping us identify ways to help our son cope with his sensory issues, and ways we can cope with them as well.

I started this campaign due to the overwhelming outpouring of love and support and offers for help.  This campaign is being used to combine the efforts of all those who wish to help, so as to make a greater impact.
