On the 1st of July, Oban Airport will be hosting a fundraising day in order to help Cameron Allen attend a 10-day Meteorological Observers course in Aberdeen.

Cameron has been doing work experience at the airport throughout the last academic year and has taken part in almost all of the roles required at an airport. This course will allow him to record observations that are used to advise pilots on the local weather conditions. These reports are also used by the Met Office when they are forecasting the weather for the local area. The course will allow him to carry on working at the airport on a voluntary basis.

He has a keen interest in aviation and is keen on a career in the industry and this course will open up many opportunities for him in the future.

Accommodation will be required in order for Cameron to attend the event and this event is to help gather the funds for his stay in Aberdeen.

Cameron has Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bone Disease) which means that his whole family will have to stay in Aberdeen as well in order to help him throughout his two-week stay.  This means that that accommodation will be more expensive and we'd be extremely grateful if you were able to help us raise money to cover some of these costs.

If you are unable to attend the event, but would still like to donate to the cause, any donation would be gratefully appreciated.
