I am Dave with Wounded Knee Relief Fund. We serve the Oglala Lakota people on Pine Ridge Indian reservation. It is on the two poorest counties in the US.
Suicide and poverty is epidemic! Working with Native people on the rez we want to build a dorm for young Lakota dealing with struggles no young person should have to deal with.
The young ones will help us build the youth shelter and it will belong to them, it will be space for Lakota youth.
We are working with the Lakota social workers of the Bear Cave who care for the people's of Pine Ridge. They have land to build on and we hope to lay foundation in late April. You can follow us on Wounded Knee Relief fund on Facebook or email [email redacted]
