Heroes on the Hill: 5K & Carnival
Donation protected
Who’s involved?
Students in Chestnut Hill College's sports management event planning course (SPMA220) will be organizing, coordinating, and executing all aspects of this event. The College’s Student Government Association (SGA) and Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) have also pledged their commitment and support toward fundraising efforts, volunteering, and other aspects related to this event.
Why attend?
Heroes on the Hill participants will be contributing to two wonderful charities; Home for our Troops and Freedom Service Dogs of America.
Goals
In addition to fundraising for two wonderful charities, the Heroes on the Hill Event Planning Team intend to make this an annual event that students, military service men and women, veterans, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members will look forward to attending and supporting each year.
CHC’s Dear Neighbor Mission
It is also important that the Heroes on the Hill event coincides with CHC's Dear Neighbor mission. The mission of the college is dedicated to serving the Dear Neighbor of student, faculty, staff, the surrounding community, as well as our global neighbors, without distinction and with love. Father Medaille, founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, asked the Sisters, as they surveyed the streets, to find the needs of the dear neighbor and to ‘circle the city with love”.
