Eye appeal for Gemma

Donation protected
Gemma Huggins is a young mum who has gone through what no mother should have to endure. On march 25th 2012 she begun to feel ill and her health deteriorated drastically. From the local James Paget Hospital she was rushed to Addenbrooks hospital for a suspected aneurysm (bleed on the brain). It turns out that Gemma had actually been affected by 2 strokes that evening causing permanent damage on her brain.
Gemma went backwards and forwards for scans and tests to Addenbrooks as well as another emergency trip to the James Paget. Her health since then has been far from stable. The Aneurysms had left permanent damage to the brain causing paralysis to the right side of the face and the eye had third nerve palsy along with one side of the body weaker than the other. On top of this Gemma still has sleeping difficulty, acute tiredness and a loss of balance and sight. Gemma is also being tested for nocturnal epilepsy and recently suffered a further mild stroke.
For the last nearly 3 years every appointment Gemma has had has been negative. By chance Gemma’s dad found out about an Oculist (eye specialst) called John Pacey-Lowrie who gave hope with some help. Gemma travelled to Nottingham and was told the magic words…I can help you. The treatment could cost up to £100,000.00 over Gemma’s lifetime but will be given a chance to look and feel more comfortable and also block out the diplopia (double vision). Gemma is a working mum and deserves some help with her medical fees to make such a difference in her life.
