I am a Spiritual Leader in Sacramento, California that works with children and youth between the ages of 5 to 18 years of age, for the purpose of building: self esteem, community, culture, hope, and a better future for the children growing up in the inner-cities of Northern California.
The other day I heard a powerful statistic that says children living in poverty never leave a five-block radius of their neighborhood. Without the ability to experience life outside the inner city, children are vulnerable to a life of gangs, drugs, and crime.
My mission is to expose the youth to a life outside of the inner city and connect them to community in Native circles, for the hope of empowering change for those who are at risk for gang violence, depression, and a life of crime.
I have seen positive results working with the youth that include: leadership, self esteem, pride, and hope.
Your funds will allow these young people exposure to new experiences and places away from their typical impoverished neighborhoods.
There is much beauty to be seen.
It is vital that the connection to the culture stays alive. We believe that every youth is important to the empowerment of our surrounding communities.
