The New Glarus Farmers Market was established in the community in 2013.  Proudly named America's "Little Switzerland." 
New Glarus Farmer's Market is a vendor operated not for profit group whose purpose is to contribute to the success of our local agriculture and small scale farmers as well as specialty product entrepreneurs.  The market strengthens our local economy, connects us all more closely to local agriculture and serves as a community gathering place.
Currently, residents need to travel a distance to attend a farmers market in the area. Supporting the New Glarus Farmers Market means you have invested interest in supporting local food culture and specialty product entrepreneurs that will give a direct return back into the communities’ economy. This group of volunteers running the market decided to take over the New Glarus Farmers Market because we care about supporting our local food systems and entrepreneurs

The New Glarus Farmers Market is independently operated by small group of volunteers. The market is supported only through private donations and vendor fees...no city or county support...and it is an expensive venture to pull off. All funds will be used for the sole purpose of advertising and basic operational expense of the market. The market needs to raise money to cover:
·         Cost of liability insurance policy
·         Permit fees
·         Printing of market flyers
·         Outdoor signage expense, yard signs
·         Adverting expense in local newspapers, radio.

Creating community awareness of the farmers market day/time is essential to the success to market for the vendors and consumers. The market is slated to begin in May 2018-October 2018. Funds will be properly managed and budgeted out for the duration of the market season and future usage.

Now more than ever connecting local consumers to farmers is so important with the globalization of our food sources and chemically treated food.
