URGENT! RESCUE THE STREET DOGS OF NEPAL!
I am the Founder of Nepal Street Animal Rescue. We are currently seeking funds, that are desperately needed to save the 30,000+ surviving street dogs that live in the Unesco Heritage city of Bhaktapur and within the Kathmandu Valley. The money raised will go directly to the Bhaktapur Animal Welare Society (BAWS)  to support the Vet for Your Pet Clinic where Dr. Joshi, the Founder of the street dog NGO BAWS is currently caring for the injured dogs (see LA Times article above). Dr. Joshi spent the first several days after the quake digging through the rubble to retrieve human survivors and corpses and take bodies, when necessary, to the morgue in the back of his own vehicle. Now that the human search in Bhaktapur is coming to a close, he is focussing, once again on the street dogs. 3 days after the quake, he had 3 street dogs that were injured the day of the quake that had legs that were so badly crushed by falling debris that they needed to be amputated.... he couldn't do the surgeries until he recieved enough money to purchase the needed medicines to treat them and he couldn't buy medicine when he had no funds.... He can't continue treating and feeding these dogs without YOUR SUPPORT! We must act and act now! NSAR is an equal partner with BAWS and is raising money exclusively to support Dr. Joshi. Once the most injured have been attended to, NSAR/BAWS will use the donated funds to rebuild the clinic and get BAWS up and running at full speed... bigger and better with a proper rescue hospital and adoption center.  A small team will travel to Nepal to help Dr. Joshi with dogs that were not killed during the earthquake and with the building of the new facility (spay/neuter is a top priority). These dogs, prior to the quake, were simply struggling to survive- eating from garbage dumps, drinking water from filthy ditches, being poisoned by the government to lessen their numbers. They are injured, sacred, are starving, carry parasites and diseases like rabies and mange....all of which impacts humans as well.
We MUST act IMMEDIATELY to help these wonderful animals with food, water, medical care. Donations will be distributed right away to Dr. Joshi and BAWS. Please support NSAR and BAWS today!

*All donations are tax deductible. All money recieved will go directly to the care of these dogs.
