Nepal Relief (Chicago)

Donation protected
Alexandra Gaulin, Dean Tatooles, and Christopher Mundy are three Chicagoans who were in Nepal when the first devastating earthquake hit, and thankfully returned home safely from a two-week photography expedition.

Among the other group members are Bruce Kennedy (Canada), Debbie Reynolds (NY), Idene Attaran (CT), John Lavicka (OH), Kristen Brauer (FL), Rick Bloomer (NY), Robert Wydro (WA), and Tim Vollmer (Iceland). Over the last few weeks, we have all been working tirelessly to raise awareness and money for the people of Nepal. With the unique opportunity to explore and connect with this beautiful country, Nepal has occupied a very special place in our hearts.

Because of the extreme devastation of (now) THREE earthquakes, these poor people will need all the help they can get as they rebuild. There are many injured, homes destroyed, and resources are scarce. All of our funds will be going to the Children and Youth First organization. Our dear friend and trekking guide, Aaloka Tumbahangphey, has been working closely with them on the ground in Nepal, and they have been doing a fantastic job delivering supplies to those in need.

For more insight on Aaloka and his efforts, you can find his original CNN interview here: http://www.cnn.com/videos/world/2015/04/27/ns-intv-tumbahangphey-nepal-survivors.cnn

For more information on Children and Youth First, please visit their website: http://cyfnepal.org/
They have also been great at posting photos and updates to their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ChildrenYouthFirst.CYF/timeline

On behalf of our entire photography group, we would like to thank all of our friends and family who have donated and helped us share our story. It truly means a lot to us, but more importantly, the amazing people of Nepal.
