My name is Simona, I am a 25 year old mother of three little boys, aged 2, 3, and 5. Until a year ago, it was just myself as a single mother of three and then I rekindled with my high school sweetheart who I have married within the last few weeks. Upon returning I was diagnosed with an aggressive spreading breast cancer. I am scheduled to undergo many tests over the next couple weeks in preparation for a double mastectomy and chemotherapy. I'm afraid my insurance won't cover all of it and it's overwhelming for my family. I have a full-time job, am a full-time student, and also an active member of the National Guard, so I am the main source of income for my household of six. I know I can depend on my wonderful husband, sister, brother, children and grandmother for support during this trying process but it's going to be very tough financially. I have firsthand experience of someone going through breast cancer as my grandmother beat it twice, and I also lost my mother to ovarian cancer at a young age. I do not and WILL NOT let my little boys go through what my siblings and I have gone through. The thought alone is killing me. It's been hard being around them because they sense that something is wrong with mommy but I can't tell them what. My oldest has a kind heart; Out of nowhere he comes up to me everynight and tells me how much he loves me and how much he misses me when he's at school. Those three boys are the reason I am reaching out for your help. I am determined to beat this so that my children can grow up with their mommy taking care and protecting them, like I'm supposed to do. Anything you can do to help will mean more than you know.
