NORTH AMERICAN PERMACULTURE CONVERGENCE NEW YORK, NY
The North American Permaculture Convergence is a non-profit conference of professional permaculture designers, educators, and students.
Permaculture practitioners design systems, wisely using the resources available locally to create long term abundance and health for both people and regional ecosystems.
Many permaculture designers work extensively in communities with few resources. They make an impact by helping to establish programs that can support the local population, regenerating the area's natural bounty and facilitate more resilient communities. Because many of the hours they invest are as unpaid volunteers, there is often little funding available to continue essential professional training or make vital professional connections that facilitate more effective or expansive projects.
This fund raising campaign will help defray the costs for such volunteers to attend the first North American Permaculture Convergence at the end of August 2014. These individuals have an important voice at any convergence of permaculture professionals and we want to ensure they can attend if at all possible.

We are seeking applicants who have demonstrated dedication to implementing projects among diverse communities and are familiar with the unique needs of these locations, especially urban projects and programs with a strong social permaculture component.
The Go Fund Me platform was chosen because funds are made available immediately and allow recipients to make travel arrangements as soon as sufficient donations have been received. We are asking the permaculture community at large, but especially those of you who value diversity in the larger permaculture conversation, to please give generously. Even if it is only $10 - every donation counts! If you can give $25, or $50, or $100, your generosity is much appreciated! While we understand not everyone can get away for the convergence themselves, maybe you would consider sponsoring a ticket for one of our worthy applicants? No matter what level you choose to give at, the world (and the NAPC sponsorship committee) will thank you!
