Precious Lillie Scholarship

The Precious Lillie Scholarship  was created in memory of a phenomenal woman, dignitary, community leader and stalwart, Lillie Wells.  Lillie Wells was an active memeber of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Southern New Jersey Chapter.  Lillie was the Chartering Executive Vice President, two term President (President Emeritus), Member of the Board of Directors,  and Vice President of Membership & Chapter Development.

Lillie's life work focused on the advancement and empowerment of women and girls of color. The Precious Lillie Scholarship will be awarded to phenomenal women and girls of color who are college bound or currently enrolled in college.  The scholarship will be awarded annually to selected applicants who meet the criteria. The awards will range from $500.00 to $1000.00 and will be based on the amount of available funds at the time of dispursement.  The goal is to award at least five, $1000.00 scholarshps.

The scholarship will be administered by The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Southern New Jersey Chapter in partnership with That Girl Unfiltered, LLC . 

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women's mission is to advocate on behalf of women and girls of color to promote leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment.  Their core values are:

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Women and girls of color who are U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents (holders of a Permanent Resident Card); at least age 16.

In high school with a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale); or received a high school diploma or the equivalent from a U.S. school.

Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate  freshman or higher at an accredited two or four year college, university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.

Studying to obtain an associate’s, first bachelor’s  or advanced degree.
