Saving Plastic at BGA

The $2,000 will be spent on the first ELKAY bottle filler and fountain and the installation. With the first $500 we will buy water bottles and decorating supplies for the students to promote ownership of the bottles. 

With each additional $2,000 we raise, we will purchase an additional water filler. There are four floors at Boston Green Academy. We are hoping to raise enough for six ELKAYS to replace the current bubblers and have a huge environmental impact.

- Encourage students to use water bottles as we will stop providing them with disposable cups

- Count the number of uses as "plastic water bottles saved" to raise awareness about waste

- Filters and keeps the water cold 

- Makes drinking water (instead of juice or less nutritious beverages) look cool 

- Reduce waste (significantly) at BGA in the form of the plastic bubblers and the paper cups 

- Young people have been so heavily impacted by water companies that they believe water from the tap is "nasty." This fancy tap water dispenser will be a step away from bottled water and the negative perception of the tap.
