A New Roof for Greg Locke

 

Hello,
This is Bruce Wayne Grodhaus of Palm Harbor, FL.
I am a retired school teacher who is raising money for one of my friends who will most certainly become severely ill without getting a new roof on his small condo.

My close friend Greg Locke is on disability due to HIV, depression, chronic back and leg pain, and many health issues.  He needs a new roof since black mold is forming in his home due to a leaking roof.  His limited income prevents him from getting the roof replaced.  He has tried to patch it himself as well as having paid a company to fix the leaks.  The company was not successful; they will not come back.  Even though he uses a cane to walk, Greg has attempted to repair the roof himself.  When last I was in his condo, I could smell a musty odor that I attribute to the mold.

Likewise, he and I have contacted various organizations such as Habitat for Humanity to no avail.  I have contacted the county government, local churches, Salvation Army, etc.  A roof is too large of a project.  I have tried to use a barter site, but that has yielded no answer.  Also I have written to President Carter to ask for help, but no answer has come.

As many as ten companies have come to give an estitmate to replace the roof.  Most estimates come in between $8,000 and $10,000.

My goal is to raise the $8,500 needed to replace the roof.  I appreciate anything you can donate to help my friend who will only become further incapacitated from breathing mold.  I know first had the effects of black mold as I have a cousin who still suffers from its ravaging effects even though she is no longer exposed to the mold.
