1) School for disabled children in Kaspi in Georgia
The government is taking their building away from the Georgian organisation Momavali. Link to Momavali Facebook
Momavali runs the only school and social service for disabled children in the Municipality of Kaspi. 12 out of 87 disabled children in Kaspi aged 6-18 years are registered at the school at the moment. There are also 78 more disabled children under 6 years old living in the Municipality who could benefit from the school in the future. It offers them a place to play and learn in a way suited for their needs and gives their parents the chance to go to work and continue earning money for the rest of the family.
In the past the school was rented out to Momavali by the government, now they are given the choice to either move to another house or buy the property at the price of 35.000 US-Dollars (31.000 Euro). This translates to approximately 91.875 Lari, which is the currency in Georgia. A kilo of potatoes costs 1 Lari, just to give you an idea how high the price is. The organisation could never afford this on their own. They were already struggling to pay their rent before and if the house belonged to them, they could put the money they save towards improving the school.
Since 2016, there have been volunteer camps every year coordinated by the German organisation “Internationaler Bauorden”. Their mission was to work on the house and help with repairs and renovations. My name is Stefan and I have taken part in the first volunteer camp ever and I came back to visit twice. A great deal of work has been done since the beginning. There used to be metal scraps and junk all over the place, no toilet or shower, the pathway and entrance to the first floor was not inclusive to disabled people, the walls had holes and were moldy, the wooden floor had splinters and needed renewing and the yard couldn‘t be entered. Now the school has been transformed into a tidy and friendly space. Just looking at the pictures (https://myalbum.com/snijAdS5fsmJ ) shows you how incredible the development has been. If Momavali has to move, they will have to start over completely. It would probably take them 3 years and a lot of ressources to get back to this point and then the government could possibly make them move again.
Our goal is to raise the 35.000 USD (31.000 Euro), help the organisation to buy the property and continue running their school. The deadline is the 31st of december.
But even if the fundraiser ends up being less than 35.000 USD (31.000 Euro) the donations would make the process of moving and starting over much easier for the organisation.
It would mean the world to the children, the people who work with them every day and everyone who helped to build the school if we reach our goal! A lot of small donations help us to reach the goal just as much as a handful of big donations. Take a little time, pick an amount you're comfortable with and donate. Bisher wurde das Haus vom Staat an Momavali vermietet. Jetzt sollen sie entweder umziehen oder das Gebäude für umgerechnet 35.000 USD (31.000 Euro) kaufen. In der georgischen Währung Lari entspricht das 91.875. Um einen Eindruck zu bekommen, wie viel die Währung in Georgien wert ist: Ein Kilo Kartoffeln kostet 1 Lari. Für die Organisation ist dieser Preis viel zu hoch, sie könnten sich das Grundstück mit der Schule niemals alleine leisten. Es gab in der Vergangenheit bereits Schwierigkeiten, den Mietpreis zu zahlen. Wenn ihnen das Haus also gehören würde, könnten sie das gesparte Geld in weitere Verbesserungen investieren.
Seit 2016 gab es jährliche Freiwilligen-Camps, die vom „Internationalen Bauorden“ koordiniert wurden. Die Mission der Freiwilligen war es, am Haus zu arbeiten und Reparaturen und Renovierungen voranzutreiben. Ich bin Stefan und habe am allerersten Camp teilgenommen und bin danach zwei Mal als Besucher zurückgekommen. Seit meinem ersten Aufenthalt ist eine bedeutsame Menge an Arbeit vollbracht worden. Früher war Metall-Schrott und Müll vom Vorbesitzer überall im Gebäude verteilt, es gab weder Toilette noch Dusche, die Wege und der Eingang zum ersten Stock waren nicht behindertengerecht, die Wände hatten Löcher und Schimmel-Befall, der Boden war voller Splitter und der Garten war nicht begehbar.
Jetzt hat sich die Schule in einen ordentlichen und freundlichen Raum verwandelt. Schaut man sich nur die Bilder (https://myalbum.com/snijAdS5fsmJ )an, wird klar wie unglaublich die Entwicklung ist. Wenn Momavali umziehen muss, so müsste die Organisation wieder ganz von vorne beginnen, was sie vermutlich weitere 3 Jahre und viele Ressourcen kosten würde. Und dann könnte jederzeit ein weiterer Umzug erzwungen werden.
Unser Ziel ist es, den Wert der 35.000 USD (31.000 Euro) zu sammeln, um der Organisation den Kauf der Schule zu ermöglichen, sodass sie ihre Arbeit dort weiterführen können.
Die Frist ist der 31. Dezember 2018.
Aber selbst wenn die Spenden sich auf eine geringere Summe belaufen, würde jegliche Unterstützung beim Umzug und Neuanfang eine erhebliche Erleichterung für die Organisation darstellen.

Basta guardare le immagini (https://myalbum.com/snijAdS5fsmJ ) per capire quanto incredibile sia stato il cambiamento. Se Momavali dovesse spostarsi, dovrà ricominciare tutto da capo. Probabilmente ci vorranno 3 anni e molte risorse per tornare a questo punto ed è possibile che il governo li faccia spostare ancora.
Il nostro obiettivo è raccogliere 35.000 USD (31.000 Euro) per aiutare l'organizzazione ad acquistare la proprietà e continuare a gestire la loro scuola.
La scadenza è il 31 dicembre. Anche se la raccolta fondi non dovesse raggiungere la cifra stabilita, in qualsiasi caso le donazioni renderebbero molto più facile per l'organizzazione il trasloco e l’avvio di una nuova scuola. Significherebbe moltissimo per i bambini, le persone che lavorano con loro ogni giorno e tutti coloro che hanno contribuito a costruire la scuola! თუ „მომავალს“ გადასვლა მოუწევს, თავიდან იქნება ყველაფერი დასაწყები და ასეთივე დიდი ძალისხმევა, შრომა და ფინანსური რესურსი დაიხარჯება რაც დასანანია. ჩვენი მიზანია 35000 დოლარის მოპოვება 31 დეკემბრამდე შენობის შესაძენად. იმ შემთხვევაში თუ სრული თანხა არ შეგროვდა, შეგროვებული თანხა დაეხმარება ორგანიზაციას უფრო მარტივად შეიცვალოს შენობა და განახორციელოს სოციალური სერვისები. ვგულისხმობ რომ ბავშვები, ისინი ვინც მუშაობენ ყოველდღიურად ამ ბავშვებისათვის და ყველა ვინც მონაწილეობას იღებდა დღის ცენტრის სამუშაოებში ერთად მივაღწევთ ჩვენს მიზანს!
