Henry Smiciklas, husband and business partner of Leanne Smiciklas, sadly regrets to inform you that Leanne has passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.
On behalf of Leanne, Henry would like to express all of their gratitude through these years of having the pleasure of serving and getting to know you not only as customers but as friends.
Many will remember Leanne for her beautiful smile while serving up large portions of Texas BBQ with a generous side of southern hospitality. She will be truly missed.
As many of you know, Henry and Leanne considered themselves as transplanted Texans with a love of the mountains and a passion for great food.
Many years ago, Henry worked in the auto body repair field but was not able to continue his trade after an operation on a tumor which left him blind in his right eye. Leanne’s career was in office administration, management and accounts payable. With Henry’s love for cooking and Leanne’s background in business operations they combined their talents and created this unique business as many have come to know as Old School BBQ. He will be selling the business because without Leanne, as he has said, “There is no business. "
