Meg Foundation

The Meg Foundation is an organization dedicated to empowering children and families to prevent and relieve pain.  The Foundation is in it's infancy, and the groundwork is being laid to create a solid future going forward.  Meg Zweiback was invaluable source of wisdom on the project during the final year of her life, and was actively involved in it's creation.   Her husband, Zack Wasserman, has become our valued legal counsel and source of wisdom as well.  When it became clear that Meg would not be able to serve on our board as we hoped and desired, she asked that this might be the charity that benefit from those seeking to find ways to remember her for the generous and indomitable spirit she was.  We had spent months trying to find the perfect name for the Foundation, and about a month ago, the choice became obvious.  The goals of the Foundation match Meg herself:  help children, empower families, and prevent unnecessary suffering.   We were honored to be able to ask her if she would allow us to borrow her name, and even more honored she said yes. 

We are in the process of obtaining our official legal non profit status, and all donations are tax deductible. 

The primary goal of the Foundation is to prevent medical trauma and produce better health and wellness outcomes in the short and long term for children and families through education, empowerment, and skill building around pain management.   We believe in harnessing the power of technology and good design to make resources accessible and useful to all.  To get an understanding of the type of work the Foundation will be creating and supporting, you can watch this video created for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.  Our Executive Director, Dr. Jody Thomas, directed the project and was the subject matter expert. Our Board Chair, Dr. Leora Kuttner, also consulted.
