PA Medical Mission Trip: Guatemala

Thank you for taking interest in our fundraising page! We are a group of eight Physician Assistant (PA) students from the University of Bridgeport. This winter break we will be participating in a Medical Mission Trip in Panajachel, Guatemala. Our group, in conjunction with Naturopathic Medicine for Global Health organization (501c3), will be volunteering in the local community clinics, hospitals and rural homes to provide low cost or free care to members that cannot afford it. Our days will comprise of educating on disease and disease prevention, helping with physical examinations and aiding in treatment.
As you can imagine, the cost of such a trip is quite high. Airfare, program cost, lodging and meals are all expenses we will incur along the way. In an attempt to lessen the burden of the fees, we are trying to raise as much of the total cost ($10,000) as possible. In addition to the cost of going on this trip, any additional money will be used to help purchase medical supplies for the hospitals. Furthermore, any supply donations are also welcome! This would include items such as: band-aids, gauze, rubber gloves, medical tape, liquid skin, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, modess pads etc.
As we prepare to take part in this experience, we are greatly appreciative of ANY support! Even if you are not able to help in the fundraising process, we appreciate any messages of support and keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
