Cystic Fibrosis sufferer Matthew Shapland From Felixstowe with his Partner Berenice and Selena
As many friends and family may already know, Myself and my partner, Berenice, have been fighting for IVF treatment funded by the NHS. Unfortunately, after 2 appeals and 3 rejections, they will not fund us because Berenice has Selena a 4 year old from a previous relationship. Unfortunately, I suffer with Cystic Fibrosis. This causes 98% of males with Cystic Fibrosis to be infertile to some degree , unfortunate I fall into the worst category and it will be 100% impossible to father a child naturally. This is due to the sperm not being able to exit because of the absence of the necessary tube, however, with modern medical procedures I can still father a child with the help of IVF. We are so desperate to get a chance to parent a child BIOLOGICALLY together, we want to be able to give Selena a sibling, our parents a grandchild, grandparents a great grandchild, and our brother and sister a niece or nephew. I have been through so much fighting in my life to get to the point where I am now, which is much more than many. My parents and family gave up and sacrificed so much to ensure I got to this position in my life, and it would be a fitting reward for them as well . My uncle ( my dads brother) who sadly passed away at the age of 5 with Cystic Fibrosis didn't have anywhere near the chances I have today, and it would also be a fitting reward for my grandparents who have be so supportive. But still we are denied THE usage of these resources which is diabolical.
The treatment package which include 3 cycles is around £12,000. We are saving as much spare money as we possibly can. So, we turn to our friends and family for help with whatever you can afford and we can’t say thank you enough to show how much we appreciate everyone’s support!!!! Many Thanks All!!!!!
Love Matthew, Berenice, Selena and Milo x x x
