Marias Medical Fund for her care

I created this page to help Maria cover the costs for her care.

A little bit about Maria and her current situation:

Maria is only 31 years old and is suffering from an unknown muscle disorder, she is not able to move by herself (except her right arm) and is in nursing care since 2009.

Eating and the intake of medication is only possible through a PEG probe or port. She is on several anesthetic medications, is in need of oxygen, and needs to be constantly monitored (Heart, Blood pressure). Convulsions and tachycardia (racing heart) happens on a daily basis.

Maria’s health issues have often led to situations in which intensive care interventions were needed immediately. She has had to be resuscitated and has also been in a coma.

Maria has been living in a nursing home since 2010 and is in the early stages of rehabilitation since Oct 2016.

Her biggest wish is to live at home and to get the care she needs there.

The insurance approved the cost for a 20hr care per day, but 11 weeks later she received a mail stating that the cost for all the needed care for her will be denied. She is fighting this with a lawyer and it’s causing additional stress and health issues on top what she is already battling with.

In Oct 2017 she received the final notice that the cost for her care in a nursing home won’t be paid for anymore.

So this sick girl, doesn’t get the care she needs, and is unable to move into her apartment because she is not getting proper care and can’t live by herself.

Maria is devastated and scared that she has to leave her current nursing home where she is getting the therapy that she needs. She is a fighter! She came a long way since she’s been there and is fighting for a better and healthier future. Even though the therapy is stressful, painful and requires all her strength… she is not giving up!

I am fighting for her to raise the money that she needs to cover the cost to stay at her current nursing home to be able to continue her therapy until her insurance and living situation is taken care of!
