I can't believe it has been a year since our brother Marc was so severally injured at the Boston Marathon. I can't believe how drastically Marc, Jen, Gavin and our entire family's lives have been changed forever. The one thing I do believe and thank God for everyday is all the love and support Marc and our family has received from our family, friends and complete strangers. Marc said it best, "there is so much more good in this world than bad", and everyone of you are living proof of that & I truly believe is what has helped Marc and our family get through this.
We have so many people to thank I don't even know where to start. I don't want to leave anyone out so I am not going to name names (except for our "Team of Angels"). I hope you will know when we are talking about you. If I listed everyone individually, I would be writing for days.
THANK YOU to our "Team of Angels" - Kayla Quinn, Pat Foley, Jimmy Davis and Shana Cottone that saved Marc on Boylston Street that day & to the 1st responders, doctors and nurses that helped save Marc's life. He is still with us because of all of you. THANK YOU to the doctors, nurses, prosthetist, physical & occupational therapists who helped him get well and helped him get ready to come home to us. THANK YOU to everyone who sent your love, prayers, kind words, cards, texts, emails and voicemails, it reminded us every day of all the love & goodness in people and touched us more than you will ever know.
THANK YOU to everyone who watched our children. For us to know that they were safe & cared for by people we know, trust and love (& love them) means everything and meant we did not have to worry about them while we were with Marc. THANK YOU to everyone that brought us meals and sent/dropped off gift cards. This meant we didn't have to worry about feeding our family and allowed us more time to be with Marc. THANK YOU to everyone for helping with all the legal, medical, PR, applications and paper work that had to be done for Marc, you helped us make sure he was safe and protected. THANK YOU to all our employers, bosses and coworkers for being understanding and letting us spend every moment we needed to be with or help Marc.
THANK YOU to everyone for their unbelievable generosity, donations, gifts, and fundraising efforts, because of you his financial worries will be that much less. THANK YOU to those who listened when we needed someone to talk or cry to, you helped us be able to breathe again. THANK YOU to all Marc's friends that spent the night at the hospital with him so we could have a break and spend time with our own families. THANK YOU to the Miles for Marc Team and all the other nurses, friends and family that are running the marathon in Marc's honor, you are giving him legs and running because he can't.
THANK YOU to Jennifer, her family and our family, without all the love and support we all have for Marc & each other we would never have been able to get through this unthinkable tragedy. THANK YOU to our significant others for everything they did for us, your love, support & patience means everything. THANK YOU to our children, for sharing us with Uncle Marc-e and understanding that he needed us sometimes even more than they did this past year. THANK YOU to our Mom, Dad and Stepmom for being there for all of us and being stronger than any parent should ever have to be. Marc got his strength, loving heart and determination from you.
THANK YOU to Marc for never giving up and being the strongest person we know. Because of your strength, will to live and determination you are still with us and stronger than ever. You have been an inspiration to us and to everyone that knows you. We are all so proud of you and love you more than you will ever know!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone that helped Marc, Jen, Gavin and our family in some way! We love you all beyond words! XOXO
Are thoughts and prayers are with all the victims, survivors and their families today. We love you all!
